Activity Without Receptor Binding
KPV is a naturally occurring tripeptide (H-Lys-Pro-Val-OH), derived from the C-terminal fragment (position 11–13) of the alpha-MSH molecule. Unlike the full peptide, it does not bind to melanocortin receptors — the core region required for that (His-Phe-Arg-Trp) is entirely absent from the tripeptide. Instead, it acts intracellularly by inhibiting NF-κB and MAPK signaling pathways.What Researchers Use It For
